Sierra Village, CA – The fatal motorcycle crash happened just after 10:30 this morning on Highway 108 near Lodestone Avenue in Sierra Village on private property. The CHP says the rider 51 year old Glen Bannister of Sierra Village was starting a 2003 Harley Davidson Sportster when the accident happened.
Officer Nick Norton says, “As he started the motorcycle he revved the engine and let out the clutch quickly causing the motorcycle to rapidly accelerate. He immediately lost control of the motorcycle and the handlebar hit a two by two wooden post causing the motorcycle to spin and ejecting Mr. Bannister from the bike.”
Norton says Bannister died from blunt force trauma to the head after flying off the bike and hitting his head on the pavement. He was not wearing a helmet.
