Sonora, CA — Hear from the new Warden of the Sierra Conservation Center.
Heidi Lackner was appointed by Governor Jerry Brown on April 5th to lead the state prison outside of Jamestown. She became the prison’s first female Warden. Lackner will speak about recent efforts to fill the fire camps, how AB-109 has impacted S.C.C., educational opportunities for inmates, and whether there is much gang activity behind prison bars.
Lackner’s background includes being a Correctional Administrator at Mule Creek State Prison from 2004 to 2011 and Folsom State Prison from 1998 to 2004. In the nineties, she worked at the Richard A. McGee Correctional Training Center, and the California State Prison in Solano. Early in her career she was a labor relations specialists and staff services manager at the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation headquarters.
