12-Year-Old Brother Arrested

Valley Springs, CA –The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office made an arrest this evening in the Leila Fowler murder case.

The Sheriff’s Office reports that after a 15-day investigation, Fowler’s 12-year-old brother was arrested at 5:10pm at the Valley Springs substation. The Sheriff’s Office is not releasing the name of the boy because he is a minor.

The brother had initially stated that he chased a murder suspect out of the home the day his eight-year-old sister was stabbed multiple times. The Sheriff’s Office says it is an ongoing investigation, so limited information is available at this time. The Fowler’s home is on Rippon Road.
