Mariposa Grove Road Reopening In Yosemite

Yosemite, CA — A road heading to the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoias, one of the most popular highlights in Yosemite National Park, will soon open for the season.

In addition to the reopening of the Mariposa Grove Road this Friday, the park will resume its free visitor shuttle to the grove. When the shuttle is running, visitors should park at the south entrance parking area and ride the shuttle two miles to the Lower Grove.

Each year the Mariposa Grove shuttle closes for the winter season and reopens in the spring when conditions allow. Visitors planning to hike into the Mariposa Grove over the coming weeks should be prepared for winter hiking conditions, as there is up to two feet of snow in some sections of the trails.
