Money Raised For Project Hope

Sonora, CA — Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Project Hope Golf Classic raised $63,557 this year.

The event was held Wednesday at Greenhorn Creek in Angels Camp. SRMC’s Gail Witzlesteiner reports that this year’s event raised $12,000 more than the previous year. Funding will benefit Project Hope, a twice-a-week free mobile health clinic at the Crossroads Shopping Center in Sonora. The golf classic, chaired this year by Tuolumne County Sheriff Jim Mele, saw 156 entrants.

The picture is of the helicopter ball drop on the 18th hole. It was part of a contest where participants could purchase a ticket with a number, and if their ball landed in the hole, they would win a cash prize.
