Sonora, CA — Tuolumne County leaders will vote on the budget for the next fiscal year.
It is the main item on Tuesday’s Board of Supervisors agenda. The county needs to close a projected $3.3 million shortfall for the coming year. The proposed budget includes the elimination of several positions, including two Sheriff’s Deputies, a Sheriff’s Dispatcher, Sheriff’s Clerk, Building Maintenance Supervisor, Systems Analyst, CRA Planner, and an Animal Control employee. Only two of the positions, the Building Maintenance Supervisor and Animal Control, are currently filled.
The Board will also discuss whether to open up all of the Tuolumne County Planning Commission seats as the county moves towards transitioning towards one commission.
Towards the end of the meeting, the Board hold a closed session to discuss the lawsuit filed by Citizens for Responsible Growth related to Columbia Apartment Complex.
Tuesday’s meeting begins at 9am in the Supervisors meeting room. It will be streamed live in the multimedia section of myMotherLode.com.
