San Andreas, CA — Work moves forward on the new Calaveras County Jail complex.
The project is managed by Flintco Pacific, Inc. a company based out of Oklahoma, with an operating office in Sacramento.
John Stump, Vice President of Operations, says that the project is running on schedule. Crews have been able to do all the rough grading, utilities and start the foundation for the jail. According to Stump the jail foundation is already half poured and they will start on the Sheriff Administration Building foundation soon. The project is scheduled to be completed in the Spring of 2013.
K.W. Emerson of San Andreas completed construction of access roads and some utility work in July.
The new jail will include space for 160 beds. The total budget for the overall project is $56 million, paid for with a mix of state AB 900 funds and local tax dollars.
