San Andreas, CA — Officials have located more human remains outside the former family home of Wesley Shermantine.
Sgt. Les Garcia of the San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Department says a canine team out of the Bay Area helped find a second human skull today near a hillside on the property. The Calaveras County Public Works Department brought in a backhoe to move dirt in the area, after the dogs gave indication that there could be human remains.
Sgt. Garcia says officials will continue to search the property outside San Andreas over the next several days. The remains have been sent to a lab for positive identification.
