Sonora, CA — The drive is already underway and this is the last weekend for the local “Tire Amnesty Days”.
The offer is only extended to Tuolumne County residents who can get rid of old truck and car tires, without the rims, through Tuesday, April 30th. There is a nine tire per person limit.
Tire dealers or other businesses are not allowed to participate. In addition, industrial, farming and heavy equipment wheels are not accepted. The service is free to Tuolumne County residents by rolling tires into two locations:
Proof of county residency is required by either showing a current driver’s license or utility bill with a local address. County officials note that while state law prohibits transporting more than nine tires at a time, exemption for up to 20 tires are available during this the amnesty by calling (209) 533-5588.
