Sonora, CA — Yosemite National Park has earmarked $158,000 to start running a daily bus route from Sonora to Yosemite.
Tuolumne County Transportation Council Executive Director Darin Grossi says the service should start in mid-May and continue through the end of September. Grossi says the preliminary plan calls for one Yosemite Area Regional Transportation System Bus to leave Sonora early each morning and return late in the afternoon. A second bus would then likely be added on the weekends.
Yosemite has committed to funding the program for at least three years.
A programming note, Grossi will be the guest on Mother Lode Views this weekend to discuss this and other transportation issues in Tuolumne County.
