Angels Camp, CA — The Calaveras County Fair will have a dignitary on hand for one of its signature events.
Miss California Mackenzie Freed will host the Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant that is a highlight of day one of the annual fair and jumping frog jubilee. This four day fair will run May 16-19.
Freed, a Lodi native, was crowned Miss California last June and she participated in the Miss America Pageant in September. She has family ties to Calaveras County.
Noting her interest in participating in youth events, Freed says, “My goal is to encourage America’s youth to be brave and bold in the pursuit of their passions and to accept one another as equals.”
The pageant will be awarding nine scholarships totaling over $8,000. Joining Freed on the stage will be Darrin Mills and MaryBeth Ospital. The Miss Calaveras Scholarship Pageant’s presenting sponsor is Ironstone Vineyards and the Kautz family.
