The Winter Storm Warning remains in effect for both the Mother Lode and the Sierra Nevada.
In the Mother Lode, this is effective through 10 PM Wednesday.
In the Sierra Nevada, this is effective through 4 PM Thursday.
According to the National Weather Service, two to four inches of snow accumulation is possible above 2000 feet. Half a foot to a foot of snow is likely around 3000 feet. Up to five feet of snow is expected above 3000 feet.
In the Motherlode, winds of twenty to thirty mph are expected with gusts ranging from forty to sixty mph.
In the Sierra Nevada, winds of twenty to seventy mph with gusts up to one hundred ten mph likely over the Sierra crest.
