A former Sonora High School soccer star has received a prestigious honor at UC Irvine.
Lexi Kopf continued her soccer career at the collegiate level and has been named the University’s 2011-12 Big West Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Kopf finished her four year career at UC Irvine ranked ninth all-time in goals scored (20) and 11th in points (44).
According to the UC Irvine Athletic Department, Kopf was on the Dean’s Honor List, and was picked for the Big West Fall All Academic Team. Kopf is an undergraduate research student within the UCI Medical Center and is planning to attend medical school to become a surgeon.
