Sonora, CA — Friday was the cutoff day for candidates to register for most seats that will be up for vote in Tuolumne County this June.
The District One Tuolumne County Supervisors field is set. The county Elections Office reports that the candidates that have qualified for the ballot are Liz Bass, Sherrine Brennan, Randy Cofer, Jim Garaventa and Jim Hildreth.
In District Four, it will be a two person race as John Gray and Nolan Matter have both turned in the needed paperwork to qualify.
Since the District Five incumbent (Dick Pland) is not seeking re-election, the deadline to turn in paperwork was extended to March 14th. Thus far, three candidates have qualified for the ballot, Michael Macomber, Karl Rodefer and Domenic Torchia. Others that have taken out papers are Patricia Adams, Jim O’Neil and Jason Frye.
Five candidates have qualified for the Sonora City Council race. They are Bill Canning, Dave Shepard, Ron Stearn, Connie Williams and David Axelrod.
The Judicial races are also finalized. One Superior Court Judge seat will be a faceoff between Eleanor Provost and Gregory Oliver. The second seat pairs Donald Segerstrom versus Alex Aretakis.
