Sonora, CA — The deadline to apply for an open seat on the Tuolumne Utilities District Board of Directors is 4pm on April 12th.
Board member Ralph Retherford made the surprise announcement two weeks ago that he was resigning, effective immediately. Retherford had been at odds with some fellow board members at recent meetings regarding rate increases and cost cutting measures.
The remaining Board of Directors will interview candidates and appoint a new member at a special meeting on Wednesday, April 25 at 5:30pm. It is the same process that was used when Ron Ringen was selected earlier this year to replace Joseph Day.
Retherford’s seat will be up for vote again in November, so the remaining term in office for whomever is selected will only be for about eight months. Interested candidates can click here to find more information.
