Groveland, CA — A semi-truck carrying fuel tanks has overturned half way up New Priest Grade.
No injuries have been reported, but an estimated 25-30 gallons of fuel has spilled onto the highway. The truck itself is carrying an estimated 3,000 gallons of unleaded and 5,000 gallons of diesel.
The CHP reports that all private vehicles are being directed to Old Priest Grade, and only commercial trucks are currently allowed up New Priest Grade. At some point this morning the CHP plans to do a full closure of New Priest Grade while the tanker truck is removed. Once that begins, it is expected to take roughly an hour.
Be prepared to take Old Priest Grade for the remainder of the morning and early afternoon.
Update at 1:15pm: New Priest Grade is completely closed, and is expected to remain that way for the next hour or so.
