Sonora, CA — The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close eastbound and westbound Highway 108 from East Sonora Bypass (the Sanguinetti road area on-ramp) to Standard Road tomorrow. The closure of the Bypass is planned for 9:00am until 3:00pm for roadwork.
While the bypass is closed, motorists will be diverted to Mono Way. CHP Officer Brad Schultz says, “Give yourself a few extra minutes [of travel time] because we are unsure what type of time delay there will be with the work going on.” For a map of the alternate route view the Google map here.
Motorists should also expect 10 minute delays on Friday as crews replace pavement markers. Crews are expected to work from 8:00am until 2:00pm on May 4th from the eastbound Highway 108 off-ramp to Standard Road.
Weather could slow or delay the work, the 7 day forecast calls for mostly sunny and partly sunny conditions.
