Too Close To Call In Calaveras County

Calaveras County, CA — Election officials say they have a total of 1799 ballots left to count. 1556 of those are mail-ins and 243 are provisional.

Election Coordinator, Rebecca Andahl says those votes could decide the Supervisor District 1 race.

Gary Tofanelli has 48% of the vote right now and only needs 50 plus one vote to win the election. That would stop a runoff election in November with Cliff Edson who got 39% of the vote. Andahl says 350 of the uncounted ballots are in Tofanelli’s district.

She says they hope to have all the votes counted by the middle of next week.
