A Round-Up For Tuolumne County’s Economy

Sonora, CA — Plenty of money was raised for local student scholarships last night as Calf Scramble teams vied for attendees of the Calcutta, held at the Sheriff’s Posse Grounds in Jamestown, to bet on what couple would win the event during Saturday’s rodeo, as reported here.

The Mother Lode Round-up main events on Saturday include the Parade and rodeo, which Sheriff’s Posse Chairman Audie Archer says brings millions in economic benefits to downtown Sonora due to the visitors who flock to the area. He details, “This weekend we’ll bring 50,000 people to Tuolumne County. You’re talking restaurants, motels, businesses up and down the street. So, it’s good for everybody.”

The parade down Washington Street starts at 10 a.m. on Saturday with the rodeo following at 2 p.m. at the Mother Lode Fairgrounds. For further details on the Mother Lode Round-up, click here or go to the mymotherlode.com homepage and put in the keyword “Roundup”.
