Sonora, CA — The filing period opens today for numerous local races that will be on the November ballot.
Tuolumne County Clerk and Auditor-Controller Debi Russell reports there are several school board races. There are four seats up on the Tuolumne County Board of Education and three seats with the Big Oak Flat-Groveland School District. Many districts will have two seats on the ballot, including Sonora High School, Summerville High, Twain Harte-Long Barn, Columbia Elementary, Curtis Creek Elementary, Jamestown Elementary, Sonora Elementary, Soulsbyville Elementary and Summerville Elementary. There is also one seat up for vote at Belleview Elementary.
Other notable contests include four seats on the T.U.D. Board, two on the Groveland Community Services District board, four with the Lake Don Pedro Community Services District, three with the Twain Harte Community Services District, and four with the Tuolumne Sanitary District.
The November ballot will also feature Presidential, U.S. Senate, U.S. Congress, Assembly and county supervisors races.
