Angels Camp Investigating Downtown Death

Angels Camp, CA — Police are investigating what led to the death of an Angels Camp man.

Last week police drove by the 1200 block of South Main Street and saw an injured man being helped into the lobby of his apartment building. He was identified as 63-year-old Michael W. Elliot. An officer was told that the man had reportedly fell and hit his head on the sidewalk. Elliot was flown to UC Davis Medical Center, and within the past few days he has died from the injuries sustained.

In order to complete a thorough investigation, the Angels Camp PD is asking for information from any witnesses that may have watched what happened the night of July 24th. Elliot had been at Claussen’s Corner bar prior to the injury. The Angels Camp PD can be reached at 209-736-2567.
