More Blasting On Sonora Bypass

Sonora, CA — Caltrans is alerting motorists and residents to be prepared for more explosions at the Highway 108 bypass construction area today.

Crews will be blasting out rocks around the construction site from 4-5pm. Roads will not be closed for the blasting and traffic should not be impacted.

Stage II of the Highway 108 Bypass will run from Peaceful Oak Drive to Via Este. Construction is expected to be completed in 2014. This work is part of the $53 million Highway 108 East Sonora Bypass Phase II Project which began in April of 2012. The project received nearly $15 million from Proposition 1B, a 2006 voter-approved transportation bond.
