Will Sonora residents face a higher trash collection bill?
The City Council plans to pickup discussion tonight about whether to approve an increase in garbage rates. On the table is a 2.16 percent Consumer Price Index increase for Waste Management. A typical residential subscriber who pays $21.76 a month would now pay $22.23.
A vote was delayed last month after Councilman Bill Canning asked for information about how much additional money is raised by Waste Management’s new recycling collection program in the city.
The Council will also hear about a new grant funded program, known as the “Vets To Cops.” Tonight’s meeting begins at 5pm at Sonora City Hall.
