Downtown Sonora will have plenty of activity taking place Friday evening as “Magic of the Night” takes over Washington Street from 6-9pm.
Sheala Wilkenson, Special Events Coordinator for the City of Sonora, and Wednesday´s guest on AM-1450 KVML´s Newsmaker of the Day, stated that, “This event is free to the public and there will be lots of entertainment on both sides of Washington Street all the way from the Sonora Opera Hall to the Red Church.”
Although Washington Street itself is not closed off, several side streets will be.
There will be lots of live music, jugglers, antique automobiles, demonstrations, belly dancers and more.
Local businesses have expressed their appreciation for this annual event and according to Wilkenson, most of them will have their doors open with plenty of sidewalk sales, treats and other specials.
