Sonora Planning Commission Reviews Expansion Proposal

Sonora, CA – The Commission will take up the issue at a public hearing on Monday.

The Orchard Supply Hardware store in Sonora Plaza on Mono Way wants to expand its nursery area. Russell Architects is applying for a permit on behalf of Sonora Plaza to remodel and expand its nursery. They are asking for a conditional use permit to allow for outdoor sales and storage.

Community Development Director Rachelle Kellogg says “Pinocchio’s and the Donut Factory would move to the vacant western wear shop and their current building will be demolished.” She adds “It would be replaced by a concrete slab with a fence to house the expanded nursery.”

The public meeting is at 5:30 on Monday, August 13 at the Sonora City Hall Council Chambers on Washington Street.
