Valley Springs, CA – A Calaveras County teen suffered major injuries in a crash on Highway 26.
The CHP reports that 19-year-old Elizabeth Peidra was driving west of Silver Rapids just after midnight yesterday when she drifted into the opposing traffic lane. Peidra’s 1994 Honda was hit by an oncoming vehicle driven by Marie Roeben of Valley Springs.
Piedra had to be extricated from the vehicle by emergency officials and was taken to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto. Her condition this morning is not immediately known. The CHP reports that she has been charged with DUI.
Roeben meanwhile had minor injuries and was taken to Kaiser in Sacramento.
