Sacramento, CA — California voters will be able to register to vote on election day.
Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill today allowing “same-day” voter registration. Brown states, “Voting-the sacred right of every citizen-should be simple and convenient.”
The Governor’s Office says the change will go into effect once the Secretary of State certifies the new statewide data base, VoteCal. Last year the Governor signed legislation allowing California voters to register online.
