Calaveras County, CA — Calaveras Community Foundation(CCF) doled out $25,799 in grant money to local groups. CCF Officials say this is just the first round of giving for 2012. They say the groups awarded funds focused on school age children, music, seniors, fire safety, theatre, youth and food pantries.
Grant Committee Chair Scott Ratterman says “It is certainly rewarding to be able to help out this many programs throughout our county. In 2012, we had 36 organizations requesting a total of $125,000 for projects. Ideally we would like to fund them all. Choosing the programs to fund was an extremely difficult job.”
CCF Officials say a second round of winners will be announced soon.
