Sacramento, CA – The Associated Press reports the media blitz is on. Governor Jerry Brown has begun airing television commercials for his November tax proposal.
The AP says the ads misstate how the billions of dollars raised by Proposition 30 could be spent. They say at least three of the commercials say the money would go straight to classrooms and “can’t be touched by Sacramento politicians.” However, the AP reports the non-partisan Legislative Analyst’s Office says that’s not exactly what the tax initiative proposes for all of the funds. They say the Legislature and governor would determine the use of some of the money.
