Sonora, CA — The Health Fair at the Mother Lode Fair Grounds had a busy morning and a lot to offer residents.
Sandy Perkins from the Tuolumne County Public Health Dept, said there are over 100 booth participants on hand this year. There are local and regional groups representing medical equipment, dental and vision offices, support groups, nursing homes, and home care assistance.
Free screenings include hearing, vision/glaucoma, oral screening, chiropractic screening, bone density, body fat analysis, blood pressure, lung function testing, anemia testing and flu shots are available.
The Health Fair is open till 3pm and tomorrow from 7am until 3pm. Blood testing ONLY will begin at 5am to accommodate work schedules.
Many who choose to have their blood drawn show up in the morning. This afternoon the total for the day was 1,700 or about the same as last year. Last year 3,701 people received a blood draw, as compared to 3,943 in 2010.
