SWAT Bust Nets 40 Pounds Of Pot

Mountain Ranch, CA – Calaveras County Sheriff’s Officials find drugs and guns at a home on 7700 block of Oak Lane in Mountain Ranch. A SWAT team and investigators with the Calaveras Narcotics Enforcement Unit (CNEU) made the bust on Tuesday.

During the search of the home they discovered 40 pounds of marijuana, 30 marijuana plants, two handguns, two long guns, ammunition, nearly .6 grams of methamphetamine, and prescription medications.


Sheriff’s Officials arrested 61 year old William Underhill and 27 year old Miguel Topete both from Mountain Ranch for being felons with firearms. Also arrested was 57 year old Charlotte Underhill of Mountain Ranch for being under the influence of a controlled substance. In addition, Topete was charged with possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor marijuana possession charges.


Sheriff’s Officials say the search warrant was the result of an extensive, ongoing investigation by CNEU investigators.
