Names Released In Jamestown Fatal Accident

CHP is releasing the name of the Sonora woman killed after being hit by a car while jogging near the intersection of Jamestown Road and Mount Brow Road around 6:30 this morning. She is 27 year old Amy Wayne of Sonora and was pronounced dead at the scene. CHP say the driver, 22 year old Tashina Hatler of Jamestown says she didn’t see the jogger.

Officer Schultz says, “She says she’s driving down the road and looks up and sees a light in front of her and then she feels a sudden impact in the front of her car. At this point we’re trying to figure out exactly what happened at the scene.” He adds, “The jogger was obeying all traffic laws, and according to witnesses, had some type of light that was activated.”

Schultz says the impact threw Wayne into the intersection of Shaw Flat Road. A neighbor in the area gave Wayne CPR until paramedics arrived, but she succumbed to her injuries.

The CHP says the accident is still under investigation.
