Learning About The Hospital

San Andreas, CA — An estimated 600 people came out for the 6th annual Teddy Bear Clinic.

The event is put on by Mark Twain St. Joseph’s Hospital, and it is designed to help kindergarten age students become comfortable in a hospital setting. The event was held over three days this week, and was put on in partnership with the CHP, Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office, Reach Air Ambulance, PHI Air Medical, American Legion Ambulance, Angels Camp Fire and San Andreas Fire.

Besides learning about the hospital departments, the students and their chaperones had a chance to tour fire engines, helicopters, ambulances and other emergency vehicles. Each day concluded with the students having lunch with the hospital’s physicians and staff.
