Sonora, CA – Sonora Regional Medical Center is holding its annual Food for Families food drive. Giving is easy; all you have to do is drop off non-perishable goods at the hospitals main entrance this Thursday, November 15th and Friday, November 16th.
SRMC’s Director of Development and Public Relations Gail Witzlesteiner says, “This year we decided that we would open it up to the community to participate with us. Last year, hospital employees raised more than 13,000 pounds of food. This year we are hoping to do at least that.”
Witzlesteiner says donations will be divided among the Amador-Tuolumne County Action Agency Food Bank (ATCAA), Interfaith Community Social Services, Adventist Community Services and the Red Church Pantry.
Food For Families Drive-Up Donation Station Location: Sonora Regional Medical Center main entrance 1000 Greenley Road, Sonora
Hours: November 15, 6:30 to 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 4:30 to 7:30 p.m.
November 16, 6:30 to 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Also, ATCAA is holding its annual Holiday Food drive. Barrels with the words “Feed Me” are already out in front of stores all over Tuolumne County. They say the need is great this year and they already have 2000 applications for Thanksgiving dinners and they expect more for Christmas.
