Sacramento, CA – The state Employment Development Department reports California’s unemployment rate declined in October to 10.1 percent. That is down from 10.2 percent the previous month. Tuolumne County saw a slight hike in the number from 10.6 percent to 10.8 percent. Calaveras County’s rate also went up from 11.9 percent to 12 percent.
The state Employment Development Department says California non-farm jobs totaled 14,417,200 in October, a gain of 45,800 jobs. Trade, transportation and utilities saw the largest jump over the month, adding 24,700 jobs. The biggest loss of the month was in government jobs which were down 8,600 this month in California.
The U.S. unemployment rate increased in October to 7.9 percent.
