Election officials say with all the ballots in Chris Wright has won the Board of Supervisors District 2 seat. He beat Bryce Randall 2002 votes to 1880. That is a close margin of just 51 to 48 percent.
Also, Dan Lungren Calaveras County’s current U.S. House member has conceded to his Democratic opponent. Lungren trailed Democrat Ami Bera by 5,700 votes. The Secretary of State’s Office reported that there were still around 38,000 votes to count, but Bera’s margin would be nearly impossible to beat. They declared Ami Bera the winner of the race yesterday.
Today, Lungren conceded defeat to his challenger for the Sacramento-area House seat. The nine-term congressman issued a statement congratulating Bera and saying he hopes Bera approaches his job with “a humble heart.”
