Avery, CA — The CHP has identified the woman that was killed in a crash on Highway 4 yesterday afternoon.
She is 20-year-old Jessica Fabbro of Murphys. The initial CHP press release stated that she was an unidentified 50-year-old woman, but that has since by corrected. Officer Rebecca Myers says Fabro was driving her 2002 Honda Civic east on Highway 4, when for unknown reasons, she turned directly into the path of a westbound 2008 Honda Pilot driven by 53-year-old Cindy Gentile of Los Gatos. Fabbro died of injuries sustained in the crash. Gentile, and a 58-year-old passenger, both reported minor injuries, and were taken to Mark Twain St. Josephs Hospital.
The crash is still under investigation. Any witnesses to the accident are encouraged to contact the San Andreas based CHP Office at 209-754-3541. It happened at 1:25pm west of Red Tail Hawk Road. To view a map of the region, click here.
