Sonora, CA — Seasonal roads and trails in the Stanislaus National Forest will close within the next two weeks.
“It is that time of year when the roads and trails are too wet to travel on without causing damage to the soil, roads, and trails themselves,” says Sue Warren, Public Services Program Leader. “Due to recent wet weather, some roads may be gated to provide for safe travel.”
The Forest reports that the seasonal closures will be from December 16th through April 14th. Some roads are open year-round, but be advised that they are not maintained for winter weather use.
