Columbia, CA — There were two new concessionaire contracts recently awarded in Columbia State Historic Park.
Bart’s Black Skillet is under new management and has been renamed Columbia House Restaurant. The new proprietors, Steve and Doreen Kwasnicki, also operate the Pioneer Emporium and Jack Douglass Saloon in Columbia State Park. The candle and soap shop in the park has a new location and a new proprietor. It is now referred to as Seven Sisters Soap and Candle Company and is located at 22719 Broadway Street. Glinda Wolverton is now running the shop, as she recently retired from a 33-year nursing career.
Peggy Harwell with the state parks department reports that there were several proposals submitted for two openings, and the two contracts were awarded following a competitive review process.
