Woman Hit By Truck

A 90-year-old woman was hit over the weekend while walking along Main Street in West Point.

The CHP reports that Mary Gebow of West Point was hit by a Dodge pickup truck driven by 60-year-old Harold Hallet. Officers say that Hallet had made a sharp turn and saw Gebow walking in the middle of the traffic lane. He tried to swerve away from Gebow, but could not. Gebow was transported by ambulance to a Keiser medical facility in the Central Valley. She reportedly suffered “moderate injuries.”

The CHP reports that the accident happened at 5:30pm when it was dark in the area. Gebow was also wearing dark clothing. The CHP says alcohol was not a factor in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
