Sonora, CA — Sonora Regional Medical Center’s 2nd Annual Festival of Lights will be held this Thursday, December 13. Lights can be purchased in honor or in memory of special people and to support Hospice of the Sierra.
The official lighting event will be held from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the entrance to the hospital’s attached medical office building. The entrance to the medical center at Delnero Street will once again feature holiday lights and decorations.
Gail Witzlsteiner, Foundation Executive Director says, “We are hoping to create a new tradition for families and a display that our employees will be proud of.” She also says they will; “decorate the corner so beautifully, that residents will want to bring their children by the hospital to see the Christmas lights.” The Mirth and Glee Carolers will sing and lead attendees in Christmas carols.
An Honor Roll of the names the lights were purchased for will be displayed at the hospital for the remainder of the month of December and in the event program. Funds raised from the sale of the lights will assist patients and families needing hospice care who cannot afford it.
If you are interested in buying a light contact the Foundation at 536-5029. The cost is $25 per light or 5 for $100.
