Sonora, CA – Is your trash piling up? Waste Management says that is because of the holidays. They say whenever Christmas and New Year’s Day fall on a week day it puts them behind a day.
Waste Management District Manager Tom Teach says, “Both of those holidays being on a Tuesday creates a one day delay. So if your normal day is Tuesday it will be Wednesday and so on. This is for the week of New Years and then we will be back on schedule the next week.”
Teach says Sonora’s garbage is normally picked up on Friday so instead it will be picked up on Saturday. He also says the beginning of each year they mail out a schedule to customers listing all service interruptions and the 2013 schedule has already been sent out.
