San Andreas, CA — The Altaville man that was shot after leading officers on a high speed chase has been released from a Modesto hospital and booked into Calaveras County Jail.
The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Department reports that 31-year-old Jon Ryan Young was shot six times by four CHP Officers after he allegedly backed up his vehicle and struck a patrol car on Parrotts Ferry Road on January 3rd. The officers opened fire fearing for their safety.
The chase began in Stockton and then went through Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. Young was driving a rental truck. During the chase, he also allegedly tried to hit an Angels Camp patrol car head-on. Young was initially listed as being in critical condition when he was admitted to Doctors Medical Center in Modesto.
