Sonora, CA – A public forum is coming up Tuesday that will focus on rural economic growth.
The forum is being put on by USDA Rural Development in partnership with the Tuolumne County Economic Development Authority. Similar forums are being held in each of the state’s 58 counties. The focus is on initiatives related to the U.S.D.A. Rural Development’s “Jobs, Economic Development and Sustainable Communities” report. The document looks at broadband internet expansion, water resources, transportation and other areas.
“These forums will provide an opportunity for residents, business owners and community leaders from across the state to share ideas on creating jobs and economic opportunities,” states Dr. Glenda Humiston, State Director of USDA Rural Development. “Government can help lay the groundwork for economic growth, but the best ideas for continued growth and job creation come from local and community leaders.”
Tuesday’s forum will run from 3-5pm in the Sonora City Council Chambers.
