PG&E Outage Update

Sonora, CA– The recent winter storms have left thousands of Mother Lode residents still without power tonight.

According to PG&E Spokesperson Nicole Liebelt, 15,000 customers are without electricity in Tuolumne County. The Sonora area has the most outages with 6,200. Twain Harte has approximately 2,550, Groveland has 1,500, Columbia has 450, Tuolumne City has 2,000 and Mi-Wuk Village has 1,500.

In Calaveras County, Arnold still has 4,000 customers without power, West Point has 1,300 and Murphys has 1,150.

“The plan is to continue to work to restore customers that are affected,” said Liebelt. “We have brought in crews from out of areas as well as working with our neighboring utilities. We do have crews as far as San Diego heading up to the Mother Lode to help in the restoration process. We will continue to work until every last customer is restored.”

Because the outages are so widespread, PG&E does not have an estimated time of restoration. Customers that would like to report an outage or to receive information on a specific neighborhood can call 1-800-PGE-5000.
