Sonora, CA — Last night the Sonora City Council heard an update on plans to widen Mono Way.
City Engineer Jerry Fuccillo says Mono Way will be widened to five lanes between Greenley Road and Fir Drive. He says if everything goes as scheduled, work could begin sometime between June and September of 2012.
Work will also include adding a continuous sidewalk along the north side of Mono Way, and extending the southerly sidewalk. The project will include repaving and restriping Mono Way, and making minor improvements to the traffic signals at the Greenley and Fir intersections.
Fuccillo will return to the Council with a project report in March, which will include a list of properties and construction easements that will need to be acquired.
The early estimate is that the project will cost around $3 million.
