Sonora, CA– The Sonora Police Department is investigating a suspicious circumstance that had occurred on Thursday around dusk.
The father of an 11-year-old boy called the Sonora Police Department and reported a suspicious circumstance involving his son. The juvenile was walking in the area of Bradford Street, near St. Patrick’s Church, when an unknown white male adult exited a parked van and approached him. The man didn’t say anything, but walked toward the boy, while looking directly at him.
The man came within 10 yards of the boy, who sensed something was wrong, and ran away from the area and the man. There is no indication that the man chased the boy.
The man is described as being white, 5’6 to 5’7, 145-165 pounds, in his mid 20’s to 30’s, wearing a black baseball type hat with a flat bill, black hooded sweatshirt that was pulled over his head, and baggy pants.
The vehicle is described as a silver colored minivan, with tinted windows. The make and model is unknown.
