Update On Structure Fires

Long Barn, CA — CAL Fire reports that a weekend house fire in Long Barn resulted in $400,000 damage, and a mobile home fire in Mi Wuk did $20,000 damage.


Saturday morning a single story residential home in the 26000 block of Janice Way in Long Barn went up in flames at around 5am. An electrical malfunction has been ruled the cause of the fire. The Red Cross was notified to help a pair of displaced residents. No injuries were reported.


A mobile home was destroyed the previous night in the 24000 block of Highway 108 in the Sierra Village Trailer Park. CAL Fire reports that there was an explosion before the fire, and the occupant of the mobile home had to be pulled from the debris by neighbors. The victim was taken to an area hospital because of injuries sustained. The condition of the victim is not immediately known. The cause is still under investigation.
