Expect rain in the Motherlode and snow in the Sierra Nevada from late Saturday into Monday.
Five to twelve inches of snow is expected betwen 4000 and 6000 feet. One to two feet of snow is possible above 6000 feet.
The snow levels will lower from 6500 through 7000 feet down to 3000 through 4000 feet on Sunday night into Monday morning.
The National Weather Service also advises that gusty winds are likely throughout the weekend.
