Murphys, CA – A Douglas Flat man was seriously injured in a bicycle accident in Murphys.
The CHP reports that 49-year-old Crayton Granger was riding on Shady Grove Lane. There is a ditch that runs across Shady Grove Lane that allows water to run off the street. It is approximately six feet wide and two inches deep. When Granger hit the ditch, he lost control of his bike and went airborne.
The CHP says he landed approximately 35 feet away from the ditch. He suffered severe head trauma as he was not wearing a helmet. Granger was transported to Memorial Hospital in Modesto. The accident was reported Tuesday at 9:30am.
